Cathay Pacific offers daily flights to Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) from Melbourne Airport (MEL) with a layover at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). Flights from MEL to PVG take around 14 hours 15 minutes, including the layover, and take you to Terminal 2 in Shanghai.

Upon your arrival in Shanghai

The most convenient way to get from Shanghai Pudong Airport to the Shanghai city centre is via taxi, which takes around 45 minutes. If you wish to take the train, the MRT is located in the basement level of Terminal 2 and can get you downtown in approximately an hour. Alternatively, local buses are available outside the airport terminal.
