Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is well connected to the city centre of Wuhan. From outside the airport terminal, buses and taxis can get you downtown in around 40 minutes. You can also reach the airport’s metro beneath terminal 3, with Line 2 available to take you to the centrally-located Hankou zfxc ailway Station in approximately 40 minutes.

A brief introduction to Wuhan

Nicknamed the “River City”, Wuhan is divided into three distinct regions by the Yangtze and Han rivers - each with their own unique character. Take a local boat and sail between Wuhan’s old cities, starting with Hankou which houses many of the city’s museums. Here, you will also find European influenced buildings and the magnificent Gudesi – a Buddhist temple completed with extravagant Burmese styling.

Artistic types will love Hanyang’s Art District, which is housed in abandoned factories covering 100 acres and filled with local artwork. Hanyang is also home to famous landmarks such as Tortoise Mountain TV Tower, Guishan Park, and Guiyuan Buddhist Temple.

Across the river, Wuchang is best known for its lakeside flora, with the cherry blossoms, plums and peaches attracting tourists to the East Lake when they bloom each spring. You’ll also find the Botanical Gardens nearby, which are well worth a visit.

Foodies will delight in Wuhan’s unique and fish-heavy cuisine, some of the more popular dishes being steamed Wuchang fish, and braised Longsnout Catfish.
