Cathay Pacific offers flights to Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) from Singapore Changi International Airport (SIN) with a layover in Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). Both flights, including the layover, take approximately 9 hours 45 minutes and will bring you to Terminal 2 at Narita Airport or Terminal 3 in Haneda Airport.

Upon your arrival in Tokyo

Both of Tokyo’s airports offer numerous transportation options to get you into the city. If you are looking to stay in Tokyo’s more popular areas such as Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi, or Ginza, we recommend landing at Haneda Airport as it is closer. Arrivals into Haneda Airport can reach the city centre in 15 minutes by taxi, 20 minutes by bus, or 40 minutes using the Keikyū Airport Line train that runs directly to the city from all airport terminals.

Tokyo Narita Airport is also well-connected to the city centre, taking around 40 minutes to reach by taxi. There’s also the Keisei Narita Skyaccess train, which brings you to Nihombashi in the Chuo City district within 1 hour.

The beating heart of the country, Tokyo is an otherworldly destination that combines traditional Japanese culture with modern Japanese futurism.

The world’s largest city, Tokyo is made up of a patchwork of unique neighbourhoods, many of which are prime for exploring. For a glimpse into Japan's futuristic culture, head to the colourful districts of Harajuku and Shinjuku, where you will see Japanese fashions and bright cartoon-like billboards. There’s also the shopping hub of Akihabara, or the quiet old town of Yanesen that, despite Tokyo’s modern spirit, still retains the traditional soul of the city.

If you wish to learn more about Tokyo’s history, there are countless ancient temples spread throughout the city such as Yanesen’s Nezu Shrine, Meiji Jingu, and Senso-ji. For one of Tokyo’s best views, take an elevator up the 634m tall Tokyo Skytree. If you’re visiting around the month of April, be sure to catch the cherry blossoms in full bloom at one of the city’s many gardens such as Ueno Onshi Park, Yoyogi Park or Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.
